Tiger Woods broke one of the most recognizable commercial partnerships in professional sports history on Monday when he announced the end of his 27-year association with Nike.

On social networking platform X on Monday, the renowned golfer revealed the news through a statement.

“Over 27 years ago, I was fortunate to start a partnership with one of the most iconic brands in the world. The days since have been filled with so many amazing moments and memories, if I started naming them, I could go on forever. Phil Knight’s passion and vision brought this Nike and Nike Golf partnership together and I want to personally thank him, along with the Nike employees and incredible athletes I have had the pleasure of working with along the way. People will ask if there is another chapter. Yes, there will certainly be another chapter. See you in LA!”

Throughout his playing career, Woods and Nike extended their agreement three times.

According to reports, he signed a contract in 2013 that would have paid him $200 million over ten years.

On the other side Nike also released the statement confirming the separation with Tiger woods.

In the statement Nike said “For over 27 years, we have had the honor to partner with Tiger Woods, one of the greatest athletes the world has ever seen.”

There have been some recent rumors pointing to On Running as Woods upcoming chapter. But nothing official yet.
